Ella Walker
Mental health Social worker and Psychotherapist
Ella has been practicing Social Work since 2006 and over the past few years fine tuning those skills with a Graduate Diploma of Counselling after discovering she has a deep passion for counselling and psychotherapy. Ella is experienced and open to working with all ages, from 4 years upwards in individual and group therapy.
Ella uses the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for change, offering psychosocial education and strategies from an eclectic array of modalities including CBT, ACT, creative therapies and mindfulness. She is passionate about helping people to reflect on and shed patterns of thinking, behaviour and belief systems which obstruct the individual from living the best version of themselves. Ella more recently has studied the Rewind Technique, an effective hypnotherapy method for shifting trauma and allowing the individual's system to return to homeostasis, allowing for greater healing and recovery.
Ella works with people from an interpersonal, strengths based perspective encouraging self enquiry and reflection through somatic awareness, mindfulness, meditation and relaxation strategies. Ella is a great believer in each person being their own expert on their lives and wellbeing and is conscious of meeting each person right where they are on their inner journey; without judgement, expectation or pressure, and instead with hope, optimism, realism and empathy.
