Rachel Larke (she/her) is a registered Psychologist and completed a Masters of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University in 2007. Rachel works with children, adolescents, adults, and parents/carers. Rachel provides individualised support for people that is based on non-judgement, collaboration, and compassion. Rachel has particular interest areas in anxiety conditions, stress management, Autism/ADHD, parenting support, life transitions, grief and loss, and school related issues. Rachel enjoys teaching mindfulness meditation and contemplative practices that build self-compassion, insight, and awareness.
Rachel adopts a humanistic and person-centred approach to therapeutic support. She has undertaken training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Compassion Focussed Therapy. Rachel incorporates creative, play, and movement-based approaches when working with children, and encourages parents/carers to participate in sessions. Rachel seeks to provide a respectful and affirming therapeutic environment for all individuals, and has experience supporting people from neurodivergent and LGBTIQ+ communities.
Prior to working in private practice, Rachel gained extensive experience in the education and disability sectors. Rachel has worked in different roles including as a school psychologist/counsellor (primary and secondary), a supervisor of early childhood intervention teams for Autism services (community based), and as a lead tutor delivering region-wide professional development programs for teachers in inclusive education (Department of Education).
Rachel provides services to clients under Medicare, NDIS, and privately funded arrangements. Rachel can also provide assessments for Autism, ADHD, cognitive and learning profiles, and behavioural concerns.
Rachel loves spending time in nature and on her yoga mat.
